It’s been quite a few years since being hands-on with producing a marketing video. It was a delight for Headway’s Paul Cranston to get creative with BOND Events’s latest promotional video.

The primary requirement at BOND has been to define and implement a marketing strategy for the Petersfield-based meetings forum host. A part of this was a need to replace the aging video that was still in use some 7 years after inception.

The Strategy

Headway’s role has been to support the growth of the business. This included undertaking brand development, addressing the CRM, the ten disconnected websites, staff and a host of marketing collateral.
The process started with fresh new branding for the company and its events. While typically people assume branding to mean a logo, BOND took on a whole new brand with consideration to ethos, mission, values and customer experience. An updated marketing video was a key requirement to engage with its audience as a part of its digital presence.

The Marketing Video

As BOND is about people, it is right that the video focuses on the stories that BOND’s delegates and people have. Knowing that we wanted a video that would present interviews in a stylish way, we sourced a production company that had a clear identity in the way that videos were shot. Miami’s 5th and Ocean Productions were selected for a few key reasons: the portfolio shows class through camera work and in production values and they profess not to make marketing videos, but Sizzle Reels.
This use of language demonstrated a different approach to making videos and one that resonated. No corporateness but something else.
The result is a Sizzle Reel which moves, flows and has pace. It is bright, clear and concise.
